New Pokémon TCG Pocket Event Hints at Exciting New Tool Cards

Pokémon TCG Pocket, the mobile version of the popular Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG), has introduced a new event called the Chimchar Wonder Pick. This event gives players a chance to collect exclusive Chimchar-themed cards and unlock a special Chimchar player icon. However, what’s really exciting is that this event may be teasing the introduction of brand-new Tool cards to the game.

What Are Tool Cards in Pokémon TCG?

Tool cards are special items in Pokémon TCG that can be attached to a Pokémon to give it extra abilities or effects during battle. These cards add strategy to the game by enhancing Pokémon attacks, healing damage, or even preventing knockouts. Currently, Pokémon TCG Pocket has only a few Tool cards available, including Rocky Helmet, Giant Cape, and Lum Berry.

If new Tool cards are introduced, they could bring new tactical options for players and make battles even more interesting.

Potential New Tool Cards Teased in the Event

In the Chimchar Wonder Pick event, players have noticed the appearance of three new items that resemble well-known Pokémon tools from past TCG expansions and mainline games. These include:

  1. Leftovers – A healing item in the main Pokémon games, Leftovers helps Pokémon recover HP at the end of every turn. In the Pokémon TCG, a similar effect could allow a Pokémon to heal a small amount of damage every turn while it remains active.
  2. Focus Band – This item was originally introduced in Pokémon Gold & Silver as a held item. In past TCG versions, Focus Band gave Pokémon a chance to survive a knockout. If the Pokémon was about to be defeated, players could flip a coin, and if they got heads, the Pokémon would remain in battle with just 10 HP instead of getting knocked out. This would be a game-changer in Pokémon TCG Pocket, allowing players to make comebacks in tough matches.
  3. Nanab Berry – Unlike Leftovers and Focus Band, Nanab Berry has not been featured as a Tool card in past TCG sets. However, in Pokémon games like Pokémon GO, it is used to calm wild Pokémon and slow them down. If it becomes a Tool card in Pokémon TCG Pocket, it could have an effect like preventing an opponent’s Pokémon from retreating, making it a strong defensive option.

What This Means for Pokémon TCG Pocket Players

Currently, there is no official confirmation that these Tool cards will be added to the game. However, their appearance in the Chimchar Wonder Pick event suggests that they could be part of a future update. If they are introduced, they would expand the game’s strategic depth, allowing players to create more diverse and powerful decks.

Players who want to get involved should participate in the Chimchar Wonder Pick event while it’s available. Not only can they collect Chimchar-themed rewards, but they might also get a sneak peek at upcoming game features.

What do you think about these potential new Tool cards? Which one are you most excited to see in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
