Microsoft is bringing its popular real-time strategy game series, Age of Empires, to the PlayStation 5 for the first time. Starting on March 4th, players can enjoy Age of Mythology: Retold along with its expansion pack, Immortal Pillars. Later in the spring, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will also be available on PS5. These games will have the same content across all platforms and support cross-play, allowing players on different systems to play together.
This move is part of Microsoft’s strategy to make its games available to more players, regardless of the platform they use. Previously, Microsoft announced that other games like Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Doom: The Dark Ages would also be coming to the PS5. The Age of Empires series has been very popular, with 10 million players last year, growing to 60 million worldwide. Preorders for Age of Mythology: Retold are now open on the PlayStation Store, offering early access and exclusive in-game content for those who order early.
By expanding to the PS5, Microsoft aims to reach a wider audience and provide more players with the opportunity to enjoy their games.
